We are currently recruiting a temporary MRP Planner. Responsible for converting Customer demand into a manufacturing and delivery plan, the Planner will liaise closely with the Operations Team and Customers. The Planner will employ best practice in generating the production plan to obtain the most efficient factory performance possible whilst achieving Customer demand OTIF. The role will report directly to the Head of Operations.
Duties will include, but not be limited to,
- Scheduling and Demand – Receive and analyse Customer schedules (or Forecasts) and generate the development production plan. Communicate MPS plan to relevant teams and report on adherence to plan and impact to Customer.
- Capacity Planning - Working closely with other Planners & Operations Team to understand existing hours plan, load, and capacity on key pieces of equipment and manning requirements when composing the Production Plan. Contribute clear updates of demand requirements as part of the Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
- Customer Liaison – Form an integral part of the cross functional team with an understanding of the level of communications required and engage in Customer conference calls, rate assessments and other Development liaison activities. Respond to Customer requirements within any specified deadlines. Organise regular face-to-face meetings with Customers to ensure a strong relationship is maintained.
- Inventory Management - Responsible for employing optimal inventory practices. Generate WIP levels to satisfy development programme and Customer buffer expectations whilst managing obsolete, scrap, non-conforming and aged/dwelling WIP. Liaison with Purchasing Department to establish that correct raw materials are sourced on time.
- Delivery – Organise a shipping manifest to ensure delivery of goods on time to the correct location. Communicate despatch requirements clearly to the relevant members of the Operations Team and Stores.
- Sales – Generate accurate sales forecasts by part number, by week. Maintain accurate visibility of order book on ERP system, EFACS, and provide sales forecast budget information on programmes. Communicate sales performance and arrears for weekly KPI publication and assist in generating arrears burndown recovery plans where necessary.
- Data Sharing – Be proficient in the use of Web Portals to download and provide feedback on Customer documentation such as schedule changes and new purchase order placement.
- Planning Support – Engage in a series of cross-training activities to develop an understanding of Planning processes across all Business Units.
- To continually seek to improve existing working practices and exceed targets and standards set.
Essential experience
- MRP Production Planning in an Aerospace (or similar) Manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding and execution of capacity planning.
- Experience using ERP software to generate manufacturing and sales plans.
- High levels of numeracy and computer literacy – MS Excel essential
Desirable experience
- Previous use/knowledge of Efacs ERP software (version 8.6)
