We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Quality Inspector. This position carries the responsibility of ensuring adherence to both the company's and the customer's quality standards and procedures across incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. A significant level of expertise in this capacity is required, ideally with a background in the aerospace industry.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Adhere to punctuality, follow instructions from supervisors and management, maintain effective communication with coworkers, and consistently abide by work rules and procedures.
- Assist in cultivating a culture of quality consciousness alongside the management team by setting a leading example.
- Collaborate with the inspection team to achieve daily production targets. Provide timely feedback on emerging production issues.
- Conduct thorough inspections on incoming, in-process, and final parts to ensure compliance with both company and customer specifications. In cases where items fail to meet these requirements, strictly adhere to the company procedures for rejection.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of company and departmental policies and safety procedures.
- Employ a variety of precision measuring tools, such as height gauges, micrometers, and verniers, consistently maintaining their calibration.
- Generate essential documentation, such as data cards and other inspection-related materials, that are required to complete the operational process.
- Guarantee that products conform to precise tolerances, meeting the standards and specifications set by both customers and internal benchmarks (including NADCAP and AS9100 standards).
- Methodically prepare and maintain comprehensive inspection reports.
- Participate in the necessary audits critical for the company to retain its current accreditations in the industry, serving both the sector and its clientele.
- Proficiently interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Undertake any other duties as required or as assigned when needed.
- Utilise various marking equipment to identify parts before their shipment to customers.
Position Requirements
- Essential requirement: Demonstrated success in an inspection position.
- Essential requirement: Possess excellent levels of computer literacy.
- It is desirable to have experience in the aerospace sector.
- Preferably holds an NVQ or qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Profound knowledge of quality control standards is essential.
- Qualification to AS13001 for product release is preferred.
- Understanding of lean principles, particularly 5S practices.
