An international manufacturer of critical parts to aerospace customers is looking to secure the services of a first-class Resistance Welder to support production activities within an organised high-value low-volume manufacturing facility that encourages staff development and progression.
Working with exotic materials to tight tolerance you will be supported by the manufacturing team after an initial 13-week training & induction period.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Autonomous maintenance to be kept up to date.
- Carry out chisel testing, shear testing, and metallography on A and B tests including visual.
- Ensuring electrodes are maintained to an appropriate standard.
- Inspection.
- Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures.
- Maintain work area, equipment, and records to be audit ready.
- Maintain written production/testing records.
- Other duties as assigned, needed, or requested.
- Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well with co-workers, etc.
- Review procedures, specifications, and any other instructions for completeness to perform the operation.
- Set up and operate resistance, seam, and spot-welding equipment to defined parameters.
- Use calibrated measuring equipment.
- Work to process instructions via drawings and data cards.
Education and Experience:
- 2 years resistance welding experience in an Aerospace background – Desirable.
- Experience in operating Sciaky Resistance/Seam/Spot welding machines – Desirable.
- Experience in welding exotic materials including, 12% Chrome, Nimonic, Stainless up to 1.2mm, and Titanium – Desirable.
- Involvement in third party audits including NADCAP – Desirable.
- To be able to pass required eye test – Essential.
