TIG Welder – Aerospace

An exciting opportunity for an experienced TIG Welder to join our Aerospace manufacturing team!
An international manufacturer of critical aerospace components are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder. In this role, you will fabricate and assemble components using manual TIG Welding, operate semi-automated Circumferential and Longitudinal Welding machines, while strictly adhering to safety, quality, and work instructions.
You will work with exotic materials to tight tolerances and undergo a comprehensive 13-week training & induction period to ensure your success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate semi-automated welding equipment for Circumferential and Longitudinal welds.
- Conduct weld inspections to customer drawings and specifications.
- Perform manual TIG welding and weld repairs as required.
- Ensure products meet customer and internal standards (NADCAP and AS9100).
- Interpret engineering drawings and work meticulously to instructions/procedures.
- Conduct autonomous maintenance to keep equipment operational.
- Provide feedback on production issues and assist with continuous improvement.
- Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and lean principles (5S).
- Meet production targets and work collaboratively with the team.
Requirements:
- Apprenticeship or time-served background in Engineering (NVQ/qualification desirable).
- Proven experience in welding, preferably in the Aerospace industry.
- Experience with semi-automated Welding machines (desirable).
- Basic understanding of lean principles and 5S methodology.
- Ability to work to production targets and strict quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety and willingness to follow procedures.
