The work
You'll be programming, setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision components from engineering drawings.
Programming is carried out directly at the machine, working with materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminium and engineering plastics.
You'll be expected to work independently, select appropriate tooling and machining methods, and take responsibility for producing accurate, quality components.
What we're looking for
- Experience in both CNC milling and turning.
- Confident programming, setting and operating CNC machinery.
- Experience with Fanuc controls preferred, although Heidenhain and other controls will be considered.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to specified tolerances.
- Experience producing one-off and small-batch components.
- The confidence to work independently and solve machining problems.
Above all, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their machining and enjoys the challenge of making different components well.
Pay and working hours
- Up to £19.50 per hour, depending on experience.
- Day shifts, with no nights.
- Overtime opportunities paid at time and a half.
