Build Your Own Specialist Market
You'll become Ion Tec's Market Specialist - Machining, developing relationships with engineering and manufacturing businesses and skilled engineers across Yorkshire.
This isn't a recruitment job conducted entirely from behind a desk.
You'll spend time inside manufacturing businesses, meeting Production Managers, Directors and engineering teams. You'll meet candidates face-to-face and learn what they actually do.
Over time, you'll develop genuine knowledge of machining, the companies operating within it and the people who make the industry work.
The objective?
Become the person Yorkshire manufacturers call when they need machining talent.
We'll Teach You
Your career starts with four weeks of intensive development through the Ion Tec Academy.
We'll teach you engineering and manufacturing fundamentals, specialist recruitment, candidate assessment, client development, commercial negotiation and how to build your market methodically.
You'll then put that learning into practice on live assignments alongside experienced recruiters.
Demonstrate the required standard and you'll progress to Market Specialist - Machining, with your basic salary increasing from £28,000 to £36,000.
From there, the career path is clear:
Academy Associate → Market Specialist → Senior Market Specialist → Head of Machining
The long-term opportunity is to build and eventually lead your own specialist team within Ion Tec.

You might currently work in field sales, business development, account management, territory sales or technical sales.
Your industry matters less than what you bring.
We're looking for someone who is curious, commercial, personable, resilient, ambitious and professional – someone who has already demonstrated the ability to build relationships and now wants the opportunity to build something of their own.
